Three scores for a meeting point unfolds in three parts that tend to different ‘meeting points;’ between different ecologies, the body and its surrounds, interior and exterior. Taking inspiration from the Fluxus event score, the soundwalk is a series of instructions involving simple acts that recontextualize a short everyday walk as a performance of attuning to transitional or in-between spaces.
The design of the event score is minimal, and each score in the artist multiple of 20 is unique because of the charcoal rubbing/frottage on the front of the print. The charcoal used is made from foraged twigs baked on a fire while camping in northern Ontario. The charcoal, as material, is open to change and smudges across the page with each new encounter. During the soundwalk participants were invited to take a piece of charcoal along with them so that they might add to the layers of rubbings, or make sketches or notes as the printed score takes on new and multiple lives, and participants become co-authors of the printed artist multiple.
